Engagement Session Historic Downtown Deland
This Engagement Session in Historic Downtown Deland is a must see which features Sara and Dave. These two knew exactly where they wanted to have their engagement session and when I asked them the reason I thought it was adorable. Deland is home to the infamous Persimmons Hollow brewing company which Sara and Dave are huge fans of breweries. So that is exactly where we started this session in Historic Downtown Deland. I always love the dark woodsy theme at this brewery and had always wished I would have the opportunity to do a shoot inside there. As you can imagine I was thrilled that we were going to take some pictures there. After we did some photos at the brewery we made our way through Historic Downtown Deland. We made a stop at the infamous Deland Wings and a couple other illustrations by the same artist (Erica Group). And the weather! OMG! It was hot but also the best overcast skies for a photoshoot. If you know anything about Florida summers then you know how unforgiving they can be with humidity. Throw some summer sun into the mix and you’re dripping enough sweat to fill up a kiddie pool. No Joke! If the sky is overcast you are in better luck to not sweat as much to fill that pool up but its bearable. I love the fact that we got to do some cool pictures inside the artisan alley garage. It has this amazing skylight right in the middle of the building that lets in just enough light to make for some dramatic moody photos. At the end of our session we did some photos at the famous Cafe DaVinci’s. It’s a fun little music and drinks spot that’s pretty much the focal point of Deland nightlife. It was a thrill to photograph these two in a really cool location that never lets me down. I can’ wait for their wedding in December!
